Where will I be Assessed?
You will be assessed in your salon. One of our Assessors will visit you in your salon on an agreed date and carry out Assessments. However, if you live within commuting distance of our Edinburgh Academy, you have the option of attending there.
Who are the Instructors?
Extremely talented individuals with extensive experience and knowledge. Our Instructors are some of the friendliest, most passionate and patient people you will meet. They will encourage you every step of the way and work diligently to ensure you get the most out of your time at the Academy.
What level are your courses?

Are there any entry requirements?

What is the usual age of students taking courses at Vincent Bell Academy?
We have a diverse student base and find that ages vary widely. Students must be at least 16 years old, but that requirement aside, we accept all ages.
Is it possible to gain an SVQ qualification at the Vincent Bell Academy?
Yes, all of our courses work towards an SVQ level 3, administered by the examining body City and Guilds.
After I finish my course am I guaranteed a job?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee you a position upon graduation. However, if you apply yourself throughout the course, listen to the teachers’ advice and build strong relationships while at the Academy, you will leave with the best chance of finding work afterwards.
What should I wear?
There is no specific dress code.
Do I need to bring my own model?
Candidates must provide their own models. All hands-on and demonstration work will only be carried out on live models and not on doll heads or wig blocks.
What is the deadline for applications?
There is no deadline to make a booking; we take bookings until the course is filled to capacity. Therefore, we recommend that you make a booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
